- What causes rain to fall? And how big are rain drops usually?
- What is snow? Looking at the illustrations what types of snow happen when it is between 10 and 20 degrees Celsius?
- What are the three types of clouds and explain each of them?
- How are snow and rain alike? Are all snowflakes the same? How many sides do they have?
- Why is there more snow on the mountain tops then on the ground?
All About Thunder and Lightning
- When do thunderstorms happen the most?
- How does thunder and lightning happen? For the question make sure you watch the video at the bottom of the page.
- What are the two ways we measure temperature? What way do we use the most here in the United States?
- Does the temperature rise during the day or does it drop?
Project:
For your project you will create a weather forecast for one day, you may use any kind of weather you like, but it must go together. For an example your temperature can not be 75 degrees and it be snowing. It has to make sense with what you learned. You will use one of the apps that allow you to create a forecast. Then after you decide what your forecast for that day is, you will create an illustration that will describe the day by looking at it. You will always write a weather report that you will perform in front of the class to the other students. You must use atleast 3 weather vocabulary words that you have learned.
